Our Story
Exeter Property Group was founded in 2006 by a seasoned team with a long legacy and shared investment philosophy. In 2021 Exeter combined with EQT and is now known as EQT Exeter. Among the largest real estate investment managers in the world, EQT Exeter, a 50-year legacy in the industry, Exeter’s principals believe that superior returns are generated by selecting or building properties that meet tenants’ needs for value proposition and functionality, and consequently provide investors with a high level of cash flow and capital appreciation potential.
Investment Themes
Within our targeted property sectors, EQT Exeter focuses on thematic drivers of tenant demand. Tenant demand can be divided into the needs of commercial tenants who occupy industrial, office, life science and related tech and business park properties and consumer occupiers who lease apartment, student or senior residences or self-storage facilities. Thematic drivers of industrial real estate include global supply chain fulfillment and e-commerce, and accordingly EQT Exeter has been dedicated to serving as the premier provider of warehouse space to global distributors and online retailers. In the office and life science property sector, EQT Exeter seeks to provide well-established pharmaceutical, tech, financial service and other large corporate users with the most functional, efficient and well-located commercial real estate. In the U.S., such assets are typically single-occupier properties in top tier, close-in suburbs, while in Europe and Asia, EQT Exeter focuses on urban, gateway city locations.
In EQT Exeter’s multifamily division, one thematic driver is the robust job growth from the health care, innovation, research and higher education industry cluster, so we serve the rental housing needs of professionals drawn to these “meds and eds” districts within our target cities. Our multifamily division also serves the housing needs of renters who are underserved by typical residential development, and as such EQT Exeter pursues investments in affordable workforce housing, student housing, accessible housing and elder housing, among others.
In all cases, the EQT Exeter team’s deep experience in design and development—from state-of-the-art distribution centers, to high-image corporate, lab and research facilities, to urban residential towers—is a distinct competitive advantage in providing the most modern and functional real estate solutions to our customers.
